On this page we will give you tips on how to install our post and ways to keep them looking their
best for years to come.
Installation
First call your post office and ask them how high the mailbox needs to be off the ground.
In Ground Installation: measure from bottom of post to the top of the arm to determine how deep of a hole you need.
Dig hole and insert post. Make sure the post is straight and fill hole with concrete or dirt. (if refilling hole with
dirt make sure you pack the dirt in to ensure sturdiness)
Stake Installation: cut bottom of post to length. Insert stake into ground and attach post to the stake.
Maintenance
Treated Mailbox Posts
- this post is basically maintenance free, painting is an option
If you choose to paint -
- for best results, post needs to be dry
- if any cracks appear fill with cauking or wood putty
- apply 2 coats of "Kilz" or primer
- use an outdoor paint, 2 coats recommended
Cedar Mailbox Posts
- to avoid decay, we recommend that you concrete in the ground
- to keep rich, red color, we recommend using polyurethane or wood sealer
Plastic Mailbox Post
- wash with soap and water!!!!!
